Privacy Policy

Assignment Studio ("we", "the app") turns typed text into handwritten-style assignment pages and typed lab files, with optional AI answers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email and name (the
openid, emailandprofilepermissions). We do not get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account. - Password: if you sign up with email, only a one-way, salted hash of your password is stored, never the password itself.
- Credits and payments: your credit balance and a record of each purchase (pack, amount, Razorpay order and payment IDs, status). Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay and never reach us.
- Content you send to the AI: questions, uploaded question papers and lab files, sent only when you ask for an AI answer.
- Security data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, your IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention), and a log of account actions such as sign-in, purchases and admin changes.
The handwriting pages you write without the AI are made in your browser and are not sent to us.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account, keep you signed in, and send verification and password-reset emails.
- To produce AI answers and lab files you request, and to track the credits they use.
- To process purchases and prevent fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your content to train AI models.
Google user data
When you choose "Continue with Google", Assignment Studio asks Google only for your basic profile: your Google account ID, email address and name. We use them solely to create your account and sign you in, and to email you about your account. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Contacts or any other Google service.
We do not sell Google user data, do not share it with anyone except as needed to run the app (the services listed below), and do not use it for advertising or to train AI models. Assignment Studio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we protect it
All traffic uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, sessions are stored only as hashes, sign-in cookies are HttpOnly and Secure, and logs hide tokens, passwords and cookies. Admin access is limited and every admin action is recorded.
Services that process data for us
- Google (sign-in, and the Gemini API for AI answers) and OpenAI (AI answers): receive the content you submit for an answer.
- Razorpay: payments.
- Resend: sends account emails to your address.
- Our server host, where the app and its database run.
Each handles data under its own privacy terms.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in (and a short-lived one during Google sign-in). There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
Account and purchase records are kept while your account exists; purchase records may be kept longer where the law requires it. Sessions expire automatically. AI content is used to produce your answer and is not stored by the app afterwards.
Your choices
You can change your password in the app. To correct your details, get a copy of your data or delete your account, email us at the address below. You can also remove the app's access in your Google account settings at any time.
Children
The app is meant for students aged 13 and over. If you are under the age required by your local law, use it with a parent's or guardian's permission.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
